Fence Staining
This project was all about protection, longevity, and doing things the right way from the start. Shelby wanted her fence to look better, last longer, and actually hold up to North Texas weather instead of fading out after one season.
Before any stain went on, the fence was properly cleaned to remove dirt, buildup, and mill glaze so the wood could fully accept the product. Skipping this step is one of the biggest reasons fences fail early. Once the wood was ready, we applied a premium penetrating stain designed to soak into the boards rather than sit on the surface.
Penetrating stains protect the wood from the inside out. They help prevent cracking, warping, and uneven fading while allowing the fence to breathe as temperatures change throughout the year. This approach keeps the fence looking natural while dramatically extending its lifespan.
You can see the difference clearly in the finished result. The wood grain remains visible, the color is even, and the fence has a rich, warm tone that complements the surrounding homes instead of overpowering them. More importantly, the fence is now protected against sun exposure, moisture, and everyday wear common in McKinney and North Texas neighborhoods.
Fence projects like this aren’t about making it shiny. They’re about preserving the wood, slowing down aging, and making sure the work actually lasts. This one checks all of those boxes.
